The reason Hannibal starts out as such a violent and gruesome show and ends very elegant and aesthetically appealing is because it’s Will’s story. At the beginning he says that murder is the ugliest thing; it is shown that way visually while he thinks it. But as his opinion and beliefs start to change after Hannibal’s influence, he begins to see death and murder like Hannibal does: a story, an offering, a thing to be admired. It can mean sorrow, heartbreak, love. It’s an artwork. And that’s why the show progresses, visually, like that.

This scene is so damn adorable I actually just asdfghjklkjhgfhj. Just look at the pre-murder husband beebies ft. heart eyes and adoring smiles and Hannibal basically confessing he’s a cannibal and Will just letting it slide bc he falling in looove and idk, I just really love this scene ok *stamps foot and cries*

This is one of a few times when Will Graham just melted my damn heart with how sweet he is. Who the fuck brings wine to a dinner party and then leaves because he doesn’t think the other guests would think he’s good company?? Will fucking Graham that’s who.

(( This is so adorable, what the fuck. I cried over this scene, legit. )

The fricking smile Hannibal gives him and the “I disagree” and Will’s look of surprise just?????

Omg don’t, Will’s puzzlement and surprise when Hannibal states that he wants him to stay always makes me an emotional trainwreck. He is literally so taken aback that someone actually wants to spend time with him, that someone isn’t disconcerted or appalled by him even after intimately knowing what his gift allows him to do. It has been broadly speculated that Will didn’t harbour romantic feelings for Hannibal until season two at the earliest but these little moments where he’s so innocently touched by what Hannibal says coupled with those goddamn smiles he seems to reserve specifically for Hannibal makes me think that he was wrestling with some intense feelings pretty early on.

I’m sorry but the first thing I took away from this was just “since I’ve used a scalpel on anything other than a pencil.”

He sharpens pencil. With scalpels.
