In 1993 Prince changed his name to an
unpronounceable symbol (which he also called the “Love Symbol”) during a contract dispute with Warner Bros. records to frustrate his label.  They had to mail out floppy disks with a custom font to the media because there was no way to type the symbol on a computer keyboard.
